Every year the harp program of the University of Nevada Reno does a harp concert that involves not only harp but violin, voice, and harp ensembles. I had the opportunity to play several pieces this year with around 20 other harpists. I was also very excited to be able to play in a trio with my former harp teacher Marina Roznitovsky Oster and Megan Kruitbosch who was featured in the concert. We played some fun songs and it was great to play with these ladies. The concert was a huge success and it is amazing to see the harp community in Reno continue to grow.
My sister Rachel is a fantastic violinist and she and I finally got the opportunity to put on our own recital. We had a lot of fun working together and very much appreciated all of those who came to hear us play. For this recital we each did several solos, together we did some entertaining jigs but our most challenging piece was Saint Saens Fantasie. This is a beautiful harp and violin duet that we have both grown to love. Hopefully we will be playing together again soon.
